Fariel Shafee

In my art, I try to portray a colorful surreal world, where dream and reality coexist side-by-side. My human figures are a little distorted, with elongated hands as if they are trying to reach an unobtainable object. However, in their struggle to fulfill their dreams, the outer world also becomes reshaped. Bright patches of color try to affect one another but co-exist on the same canvas sybolizing the conflicts of separate individuals to maintain their identities as they each vie to fulfill their own dreams.
