MARY, an online journal of contemporary poetry, fiction, and nonfiction seeks to publish an eclectic body of creative writing by established and emerging writers. We're looking for dynamic work that demonstrates attention to language and craft.  MARY pays $50 per selection (the complete body of work by an individual author) for poetry, fiction and nonfiction. We reserve first publication and onetime anthology rights for all work published.  Submissions of visual art and photography are also encouraged and we will provide a separate biography page with information on the artist and a link to the personal website for the artists we select.  However, we regret we cannot offer cash payment for visual art at this time.  Send us your best, polished work.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE
Submissions for MARY, Issue 5, Spring 2006 will be accepted from September 1, 2005 to February 1, 2006.

GUIDELINES
All submissions must be sent via email (one submission per email but please indicate if you are submitting other work simultaneously). Writers: Please include your submission as a Microsoft Word attachment. Artists: Visual art must be sent in JPG format. Include your name, address, phone number and email address in your message, but not in the body of your work. Please indicate the genre of your submission in the subject line of your email: POETRY, FICTION, NONFICTION, or ARTWORK.

Maximum length for poetry: 8 pages.
Maximum length for fiction and nonfiction: 7000 words.
