About the photos “Rewind” and “Hold Me Tight” she says,
“While I continue to photograph, write, and sing, dance is one of the artistic endeavors I no longer participate in. Yet the form continues to fascinate me. While static images of dance can be beautiful, I longed to capture the purity and poetry of dance by revealing the fluidity found in the practice of movement. “Rewind” and “Hold Me Tight” highlight particularities of the photographic arts in terms of the layering of depth and the ability to perceive and capture motion. To me, these photos represent the power of dance to express the individuality of each dancer’s strength and stride.
