BEAUTIFUL TIGERS
Drag me Mind burning
To enjoy
My human animal
Turning me in & in
Deeper than Ocean
My spine yet garlanded
With circus habits
—Mind gropes the air in Long fingers
& meets the birds doing their passagework
Smearing the sky So swift
They will not be the Mob in me
They will not be expressed for Eros
Or Elegy
No Stem no Core My lips are losing
Their set My paws wet & heavy
In the roaring torrent
There Some terrible Freedom
Of shapelessness
O Tigers Meat of my Heart I still cannot
Take off the words
