Six Faculty and Staff Members Complete Train the Trainer Program
In December, six SMC faculty and staff members
completed the Train the Trainer program for facilitating segments of "Leading in a
Diverse & Multicultural Environment," a new program which started in January 2009. The
five-part program is designed to provide campus leaders and manager with the skills and
practices for leading in a diverse and multicultural environment and to build their
capacity for modeling inclusive behaviors in their actions and decisions. Sixteen campus
leaders and managers are participants in the January leadership program. Openings still
exist for the next program, which will start at the end of February. The six new
"trainers" are co-facilitating parts of the program.
The Train the Trainer program, an intensive three-day program, was taught by Jerry Lew, Linda Rose and Barry Chersky in November and December.
