The purpose of the Elfenworks Center for the Study of Fiduciary Capitalism is to pursue research, education and training, faculty development and professional exchanges on leading edge topics at the intersection between corporate governance and fiduciary institutions.
The Center has a group of Associates — both prominent academics and professionals — to support the work of the center, and to participate in its programs. In addition, the Center has organized a group of Affiliates who are Saint Mary's faculty and staff conducting research on, teaching in the areas of or have active interests at the intersection of corporate governance and fiduciary capitalism.
The Center hosts visiting scholars pursuing research in the areas of corporate governance, institutional investor activism and sustainability.
The Center is located in Moraga, California, the home of Saint Mary's College of California, and brings together scholars and practitioners for conferences and seminars, supports research and publication in the area through sponsorship of a series of working papers as well as support for student and faculty exchanges.
