What We Do

As a constituent organization, along with the President's Cabinet, Academic Senate and the Associated Students, the Council shall operate as a recognized member of the College governance system to provide a forum for open communication and on-going dialogue among staff and between staff and administration. The Council shall be a consultative and deliberative body with authority to make recommendations on all matters which have a significant bearing on the working environment of the staff. The Council will serve as the official nominating body for staff appointments to College administrative committees, and for other task forces and search committees as requested.

Meetings

Open meetings are generally held in Hagerty Lounge from 12:00-12:30 on the second Tuesday of each month. All staff are invited to attend these meetings to stimulate conversation on issues important to the staff.  Special presentations from key College figures are often a part of the open meetings.  Download a copy of the meeting schedule for your office.

Join Us

Any staff members of the College may nominate another staff member for election to the Council.  Nominees must have worked for the College for at least one year as of July 1 to be eligible for nomination and/or to be elected to the Council.  Any staff member may nominate him or herself.  Nominations are generally accepted in April with an election in May.  Watch for announcements from the Council.
