What We Do

As a constituent organization, along with the President's Cabinet, Academic Senate and the Associated Students, the Council shall operate as a recognized member of the College governance system to provide a forum for open communication and on-going dialogue among staff and between staff and administration. The Council shall be a consultative and deliberative body with authority to make recommendations on all matters which have a significant bearing on the working environment of the staff. The Council will serve as the official nominating body for staff appointments to College administrative committees, and for other task forces and search committees as requested.

Meetings

Open meetings are generally held in Hagerty Lounge from 12:00-12:30 on the second Tuesday of each month. All staff are invited to attend these meetings to stimulate conversation on issues important to the staff.  Special presentations from key College figures are often a part of the open meetings.  Download a schedule for 2012-2013.

Join Us

Nominations begin in March with elections starting in April.  Any staff member who has been employed at the College for one year or more as of July 1 may be nominated.  Watch the campus bulletin and your e-mail for announcements.
