The Bay Area Undergraduate Art History Research Symposium was founded in 2009–2010 by an affiliation of four local undergraduate art history programs, including the University of San Francisco, Saint Mary's College of California, Santa Clara University, and Dominican University of California. Eight students will present 15-minute oral presentations. The symposium aims to celebrate and foster excellence in undergraduate art history research in the Bay Area.

SMC will be represented by art history seniors Kristin Thompson and Kyra Mitchell.
