Gaels Standout in Olypmic Club Game
MORAGA, CA- In the Olympic vs Saint Mary's friendly, the Gaels put the first points on the board in the first two minutes. With excellent passing, Rob Carlson took it in for an early try at the two minute mark. With follow up efforts from Mike Haley and Joe Brophy, and with both tries converted by Max Heath, it was 14-0 before the Olympic Club would score on the Gaels.
In an excellent 20 meter run, Anthony Suzio scored, after beautiful pass work by several Saint Mary's players. With the score at 21-3, Kingsley McGowan took the ball at least 70 meters to score on the far sideline, not converted.
The second half opened with Kingsley finishing a breakaway run with a perfect offload to Augie Heath for the try. Max Heath was able to make the conversion, to bring the score to 33-10 in favor of the Gaels.
After a long run by Brophy and another great pass the scoreboard read 38-10, followed by contributions from Max Heath, Andrew Cook, Anthony Suzio and monster run by Tim Maupin, the final score was 53-10.
