The first match was a full 80minutes with mostly Gael B side
players in the first half, and C Side players in the second half.
The first period ended with the Gaels leading 17-12, with tries by
Grant Collins (2) , and Trey Boone. The latter coming after a 50-60
metre sideline scamper by Trey. In the second half, Alex Brewer and

Shortly after Colton Bloom made a long run to put the Gaels in scoring
Position. Final Score Gaels 34 Santa Rosa 25.
The Gaels who played the first half then returned to the field for a
40 minute game, won by SMC 32-0.
By then the Moraga “Irish Mist” was in third gear and while it didn’t
really rain, everyone was pretty moist as we watched a really exciting,
very physical match against San Francisco Golden Gate’s Mens Club.
Kingsley McGowan scored first, then Nick Schlobohm, then SFGG,
Then Tommy Wallace on a pass from Dylan Audsley; then Dino Waldren
on a wonderful teamwork effort that took a few minutes of hard line plunges.
Halftime score: SMC 24 SFGG 10
Second half scoring opened with a try by Kingsley, then Garrett Brewer on
a terrific 70 metre romp through several defenders, winding up going
across the pitch to beat the final defender to the corner of the try zone.
Then Tommy Wallace caught a very clever kick from Garrett on the far
Side of the field, at about the 25 metre line, into the hands of Tommy Wallace
who leapt over the try line for the score. After that, Cooper Maloney scored,
Garrett scored again, and after two tries by SFGG, who never surrendered,
Dylan scored the final try for the Gaels down the near sideline for a final
score of 60-10. This had to be a very satisfying day of rugby for all the players
and coaches. For the Fans, no question about it!
