• Night in the Piazza - A Venetian Mardi Gras

  Saint Mary's played host to an Italian-style “Carnevale” on Wednesday, March 13, complete with costumes, Venetian masks and a real gondola. The merrymakers enjoyed Italian food, music and dance, and a colorful exhibit and video about carnival celebrations around the world in the Art Museum.

• Saint Mary's Celebrates the New Pope

  All eyes were on the Vatican as the world - and Saint Mary's - awaited the announcement of the new pope. The Mission & Ministry Center on campus was packed with community members, and when the announcement was made that Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina was selected as the new pope, the reaction was surprise - and joy!

• "Soulful and Sacred"

  In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation and the founding of Saint Mary's, Father Edward Branch delivered a speech on "Black Catholic Voices" and the St. Columba Catholic Church Gospel Choir presented a concert in the college Chapel.
