  Sesquicentennial Gala | Jewel of the Bay

  Saint Mary's celebrates 150 years in style! On November 3, 2012, the College marked its sesquicentennial with a glittering gala on Treasure Island that drew about 600 supporters and generated $641,000. The proceeds from the festive evening will go to scholarships for SMC students.

  Gaels young and old (and even furry) strut their stuff for Halloween.

  Sesquicentennial Mass

  Hundreds of people from the campus and Bay Area community attended the Sesquicentennial Mass and reception for the official kickoff of the Year of the Gael. Bishop Emeritus John S. Cummins presided and spoke of the importance of SMC to the diocese of Oakland. Father Xavier Lavagetto, of St. Dominic's Catholic Church in San Francisco, delivered a homily that evoked the sweeping history of SMC, and Brother Ronald delivered a moving tribute to the College's commitment to serving the poor and immmigrants.
