Athletic Giving
Saint Mary's College student-athletes have been excelling in the classroom and competitively for more than 100 years. The College's rich athletic tradition can be traced back to turn of the 20th century when the Saint Mary's baseball program was one of the best in the country. The football teams of the 1920-40's made Saint Mary's College a nationally recognizable name with appearances in the Cotton Bowl and Oil Bowl.
Last year, Saint Mary's athletics enjoyed arguably one of our most successful seasons, both on the field and in the classroom, and rose to finish 5th in the West Coast Conference Commissioner's Cup, our highest finish ever, while maintaining an all-sport cumulative GPA of 2.964. The 2007-2008 year was highlighted by many achievements, including 17 student-athletes achieving WCC All-Academic team honors, 26 student-athletes named All-WCC honorees, 89 student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Our coaches and student-athletes rely upon the generosity of the many individuals and friends who support Saint Mary's College athletic programs. We would like to once again thank the 2007-2008 donors who helped support the Gael Athletic Fund and our athletic programs during the past year. Your support contributes our success and makes a difference in the lives of our student-athletes.
