How has human-induced global warming affected our nation’s most treasured lands? Professor Joel Burley will discuss some of the likely impacts of climate change and his own research on the measurements of surface-level ozone at remote National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service sites, including Joshua Tree and Yosemite National Parks.
Speaker: Joel Burley is a professor of chemistry at Saint Mary’s College of California. He obtained his B.A. in Chemistry from Macalester College, followed by a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from UC - Berkeley and a three-year post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Harvard University. He joined the faculty of the Saint Mary’s College Department of Chemistry in 1994.
Reception includes hors d’oeuvres and hosted bar.
