The Dan Otter Rugby Scholarship Fund — to help rugby players with tuition assistance — honors a 1982 alumnus and devoted member of the Saint Mary’s rugby family. Make a contribution to the fund.
Dan Otter died suddenly in July 2011, at age 51. The strong SMC alumni community of rugby players was motivated to create a scholarship fund to honor both the passion and the memory of a “good guy” who was taken to soon. A magna cum laude graduate of the College, Otter had a successful real estate development career, was a devoted family man and outdoorsman, and dedicated himself to raising money and awareness for the fight against neurologic disease.
