July 17, 2014 "The Graduate Kinesiology Annual Summer BBQ has a long history dating back to the program's inception in 1976. It is always held in mid July on the last day of classes and provides faculty and students a fun, relaxing conclusion to the intensive summer term. The department also invites alumni to return and reconnect with faculty, staff, and current students through the event. This year's event marked a return to the cherished tradition of having second year students plan the event. It also served to honor the many years of wonderful service Bill Manning has given as the program's director. Although he is stepping aside from his directorial duties, he will remain in the program as a treasured faculty member. Derek Marks, Ph.D., will be taking over as director upon his return from a year long sabbatical later this month."
