This year is the 36th annual Great American Smokeout-- acknowledged by the American Cancer Society as a day to encourage smokers to make a plan to quit, or to plan in advance and to quit smoking on this day.
By doing so, smokers will be taking an important step towards a healthier life – one that can lead to reducing cancer risk and other health problems. Join us and come check out our tombstone display which will give students a visual display of how smoking affects the lives of smokers and non-smokers.
Quitting smoking is not easy, but it can be done. To have the best chance of quitting successfully, you need to know what you're up against, what your options are, and where to go for help.
SMC Peer Health Educators will be on campus set up near De La Salle lawn to help give students smoking cessation options, quit kits, and more information regarding the dangers of smoking, second hand smoke, and third hand smoke.
Tobacco Free Surveys will also be disseminated at the awareness table. Make sure to take the survey, share your thoughts, and enter to win one of four $50 Visa Gift Cards.
