On behalf of the High Potential program, the SEAS staff and peer mentors, and those in the SMC campus community who have helped to put this program together, Tracy Pascua Dea and Gloria Aquino Sosa are proud to announce this year's High Potential Program Summer Bridge Institute (SBI), to take place beginning July 25 - August 8
. Sixteen peer mentors will begin their extensive training on campus on July 20th. Peer mentor training will continue throughout the entire year; beginning this year mentors will be serving HP students beyond the SBI for the academic year.
The SBI, in place for decades, has prepared leaders for the 21st century who have demonstrated the initiative to begin their college experience earlier than their peers, giving them a head start toward their journey of success at Saint Mary's College.
We invite you to join us on Wednesday July 30th for a community BBQ in Justin Commons from 4-7pm, and also for the Closing Ceremony and luncheon on Friday August 8th, 1130-130 in the Soda Center. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by July 23rd.
We are pleased to have more than 40 students coming to campus to participate in this leadership, retention and success initiative designed to continue the culture of commencement at SMC.
The following faculty are committing their time to this summer's initiative:
Hans De Moor, Math
Frank Murray, Critical Inquiry
Joan Peterson, Critical Inquiry
Tony Watkins, English
Jeff Wheeler, English
