The Madison Courier, the hometown newspaper of SMC’s Shawny Anderson, profiled the efforts of the communication professor, and student volunteers from Saint Mary's, who helped clean up debris after tornadoes hit the southern Indiana communities of Chelsea, Henryville and Marysville, which are, at most, 35 miles from Anderson’s hometown. 

"We did hard labor, outdoor work, clearing downed trees, blocked creeks, and just did a lot debris removal," Anderson says in the article “A Helpful Homecoming.”
