What: Inspiring Wonder: Making it in Manhattan, Father Mike Russo will lead a panel of Saint Mary's College alumni who have made their mark in the "Big Apple" in their varied careers in collegiate sports, journalism, fashion marketing and philanthropic foundations. Using his years of media experience, Father Russo will delve into the panelists' backgrounds and occupations and explore what it takes to succeed and prosper in New York City-and what the job prospects are during these challenging economic times.

About our Speaker: Chair of the Communication Department from 1984 to 1996, Father Mike Russo is currently a professor of communication at Saint Mary's College of California. He teaches undergraduate courses that focus on the history of print and electronic media, American film and culture, journalism and political communication. Over the years, he has covered national political conventions and presidential elections and is considered an expert in the news of religion. Father Russo holds a bachelor's degree from Seton Hall University and a doctorate in American social and political history from New York University.

$20 per person includes hors d'oeuvres and an open bar.
