What: "Intergenerational IQ: Top 10 Strategies to a Better Family Communication." Dr. Mary McCall will talk about common communication challenges and obstacles in families (whether with children siblings or parents of all ages) and strategies to improve that communication. Special topics include talking with adolescents and talking with older family members about decision-making. Meet fellow Gael alumni, parents and friends for an evening of camaraderie, learning and discussion.

About our speaker: Mary McCall has been a professor of psychology at Saint Mary's for over 20 years, teaching developmental psychology, with a focus on families and aging. Her work includes housing and support services for low-income elders, and the role of cultural values in aging policy in different countries. She also works with individuals and families to improve communication and promote positive decision-making around family issues across the lifespan.
