Desiree Anderson

Desirée Anderson was born in San Diego, California. The child of Naval personal she had the pleasure of living abroad in Belgium until she graduated high school. Desiree returned to the United States to live in Louisville, Kentucky where she completed both her Bachelors and Masters Degree from the University of Louisville.  Before coming to serve as the Director of the Intercultural Center at Saint Mary’s College of California she served as the Associate Director of Multicultural Affairs at Tulane University in New Orleans for six years and before that she served as an Area Residence Director at Texas State University. In addition to working at SMC she is currently pursuing her Ph.D in Educational Administration from the University of New Orleans studying the use of campus-based restorative justice approaches as a response to racially motivated bias incidents. In her free time she enjoys reading, singing, dancing, and watching an unnecessary amount of TV, especially ESPN.

Cesar grew up in Los Angeles, California and attended Cathedral High School, a school run by the Christian Brothers. After learning about the Lasallian mission, Cesar decided to attend Saint Mary’s College of California where he received his Bachelors of Arts in Politics. He later attended California State University: East Bay to receive his Masters in Public Administration with a focus on human resources and organizational change. Cesar has worked in several departments at Saint Mary’s College including Facilities Services, Telephone Services, Academic Affairs, High Potential Program, Student Involvement & Leadership, and of course, the Intercultural Center. As Coordinator of the Intercultural Center, he oversees the Student Leaders Initiating Diversity Education (SLIDErs) that plan intercultural programs. He also oversees the cultural graduate celebrations. Cesar loves anything related to the Beatles and enjoys attending concerts. In his free time, Cesar loves to watch television, read, and listen to music.

Legacy comes to Saint Mary’s College after four years as an Academic & Leadership Coordinator at UC Berkeley.  Holding two M.A. degrees in African American and American Studies, Legacy is passionate about helping students dissect identity, power and privilege in their own lives, as well society at large. He enjoys facilitating dialogues on the intersections of social identities as well as building ally-ship one relationship at a time.  As the Assistant Director of the Intercultural Center (IC), Legacy is responsible for supervising the Intercultural Development (ID) Leaders, trained student leaders who facilitate intergroup dialogues in the first year residence halls on identity development and also campus workshops on hot button issues.  Legacy is excited to return to Saint Mary’s, where he began his higher education career in the office of Student Involvement & Leadership.  Currently he lives in San Leandro with his partner Lauren (an ‘08 SMC alum) and their cat, Clive.  In his precious free time he enjoys watching sports on TV, attending Warriors games as a season ticket holder, creative writing, film, cooking and camping.
