
Intercultural Development
Intercultural Development (ID) programs engage students in building an inclusive community at Saint Mary's. ID Fosters intercultural communication skills, identity development, and allyship.
ID programs are led by ID Leaders who are students committed to inclusive excellence and trained in group facilitation. Through these programs, students reflect on and share their own experiences while learning from others and their different perspectives.

Connect Session #3 • Tues, 2/26 • 7:30-9pm• Justin & Mitty residents only Connect Session #4 • Tues, 3/12 • 7:30-9pm• Justin & Mitty residents only Connect is a semester-long series based in Justin and Mitty halls this year (to branch out to all first year halls next year), with programs designed to have students share and engage with one another around issues of diversity and identity. Connect 3 focuses on diversity and similarities, and Connect 4 focuses on the intersectionality of social identities.

Say What?! Inclusive Language Workshops • Tues, 3/5 • 5:30-7pm & Mon, 4/22 TBA Through this interactive workshop, participants practice replacing problematic words and phrases with more inclusive language. Dr. David Bird, Associate Professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages and Director of the Honors Program, and Brother Michael Murphy of Mission & Ministry also deliver a joint keynote lecture about the history of language.
