“This community has been my home since 1981, and I would be honored to serve those that are a part of this family.”
Associate Director, Academic Services
Number of Years at Saint Mary’s
What do you want the Saint Mary’s community to know about you?
I have had the honor of working at the college for a long time, during which I have established wonderful relationships with many staff and faculty from many different departments. The community at SMC makes all of the difference in my work and my appreciation for my work because I know I can pick up the phone, or visit an office and collaborate with others to get the job done. For 5 years I worked at JFK University and U.C. Berkeley (Haas School of Business) and while those experiences enriched my professional experience, it wasn’t until I returned to SMC in 2011 that I realized how much I missed “home.” I am an Integral grad, have Master’s in Education from SOE and I am a dedicated SMC employee and community member.
Why do you want to join Staff Council?
I was blessed with the opportunity to get my undergrad and master’s degree at SMC. With that as my background, I have experience firsthand the value of the Lasallian, Liberal Arts and Catholic education. When I started as a recruiter for the undergraduate program in 1986 bringing that message to prospective students and their parents was natural for me. Years and some maturity (!) later, I am working with MBA students who are making a difference in their local communities and globally with the same appreciation for the values and passion for the college that I learned years ago. These students are being transformed as I was. This community has been my home since 1981, and I would be honored to serve those that are a part of this family.
