Interests

  My research interest lies in the intersection of family, school, and culture; I am currently studying the impact of parental beliefs on Asian-American high school students' academic performance and college/career choices. I am also studying the developmental changes of Japanese mothers' self-efficacy beliefs with Professor Susan Holloway at UC Berkeley.   • Extra-curricular activity participation among Asian American students (with particular focus on immigrant generational status, socioeconomic status, and gender)
  • The effects of SES and perceived support on Japanese mothers' parenting self-efficacy (individual growth modeling)
