The Department of Education founded

Master’s degree program in Early Childhood Education established

Master’s degree program in Special Education established

Educational Leadership program for school administrators launched

Montessori Preprimary Certificate program launched

Master’s degree program in Reading established

Master's degree in Counseling established, with programs in Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as School Counseling

1986

School of Education founded

1991

California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) grants full approval with commendation to the school's programs

1992

Saturday Seminar program (aka Distinguished Speaker Series) begins, offering professional development for teachers in the region

1993

Saint Mary’s College of California named the Northern California Regional Center for Reading Recovery

1995

Certificate programs in Teaching English-as-a-Second-Language (TESL) launched

1999

School of Education established College’s first doctoral program: Ed.D. in Educational Leadership

Teachers for Tomorrow program established

2005

Master's degree program in Teaching Leadership established

2006

The Kalmanovitz School of Education founded (KSOE)

2008

Opening of the Kalmanovitz School of Education in Filippi Academic Hall

2010

Center for Environmental Literacy founded

River of Words joins the KSOE and becomes CEL's signature program

2012

Master's degree program in Teaching established

2015

The KSOE expanded to include Leadership Studies programs

The Leadership Center moves to the KSOE
