Dear Members of the Saint Mary's College community,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Keith E. Brant as Vice President for Development at Saint Mary's College of California. He will join our community on July 15, 2008.

Dr. Brant was selected from a pool of highly qualified candidates. Attracting a fund-raising professional of Dr. Brant's caliber is a critical step in achieving our ambitious development objectives. I am grateful to the members of the search committee, led by Trustee Richard DeLuna and VP Michael Beseda, and the many Trustees, Regents, faculty and staff members who took time to meet Dr. Brant and other finalists during their visits to campus.

Finally I would like to again thank and acknowledge Brother Stanislaus Sobczyk, FSC, who has served as interim Vice President since July 2005. He has built a solid foundation for our future fund-raising efforts. Brother Stan will take a well-deserved sabbatical next year before pursuing other leadership opportunities in higher education.
