De La Salle Week 2008 Kick-Off

Gather in a spirit of faith, celebration, and community as our College Community celebrates the life of Saint John Baptist de La Salle and our Lasallian Heritage with the beginning of De La Salle Week 2008!
In partnership with the SMC and Joseph Alemany Christian Brothers Communities - Kick-off Reception (9:00 p.m., Mission and Ministry Center)
Come to the Mission and Ministry Center to get De La Salle Week 2008 started. This year’s give-away and t-shirt will be released!
Monday, April 28th
“Celebrating Inclusive Community”

Barbeque on the Chapel Lawn (11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Chapel Lawn)
Gather on the Chapel Lawn with the Saint Mary’s College Community to celebrate the beginning of De La Salle Week 2008. Enjoy lunch, play volleyball, and check out this year’s surprises! In partnership with Sodexho and Recreational Sports - CILSA & Faculty Showcase (3:00 – 4:30 p.m., Soda Center, Claeys Lounge)
Come hear engaged faculty colleagues who are exemplifying the Lasallian mission by combining quality education with the promotion of social justice. Faculty will discuss their service-learning and community-based research courses. Refreshments provided.
In partnership with CILSA - D.C.D.C.! Diversity Career Development Conference: Embracing Cultural Identity Through Career Development (5:00 – 8:30 p.m., Soda Center)

“Celebrating Respect for All Persons”

Walk the campus with Brother Raphael, Patton, FSC as he “regaels” us with the stories, history, and lore of the College! In partnership with the Office of Residence Life and Community Life, Admissions Ambassadors, Orientation Leaders, and Brother Raphael Patton, FSC - Brother Kyran Marathon (3:00 – 5:00 p.m., De La Salle Statue)
We are bringing back this SMC event again this year so grab your walking or running shoes, put air in your bicycle tires, or cruise your skateboard around the campus. Meet at the De La Salle statue. Prizes to be awarded and free De La Salle Week 2008 t-shirts to the first to sign up!
