Overview
Student Leaders foster the Catholic identity and Lasallian Mission of the College, specifically, and deepen the spirit of faith, service, and community broadly on campus. Student Leaders have an important role in the expression of the five Lasallian Core Principles, especially in their outreach to students. Student participation and leadership is a necessary and integral aspect of the continuing development of the Mission and Ministry Center at Saint Mary’s during the 2008 – 2009 academic year!
Roles and Responsibilities
Student Leaders in the Mission and Ministry Center provide for the planning, preparation, promotion, and leadership of the presence and programs organized around the six Core Areas of the Center (Faith Formation, Lasallian Mission, Liturgy and Prayer, Justice and Education, Residential Ministry, and Retreat and Vocation). Specifically, Student Leaders have the following roles and responsibilities:
- Participation in the Spring Mass and Welcome Celebration
- Organization, planning, leadership, and participation in the Fall Leadership Retreat
- Organization of weekly student leadership gatherings
- Participation in experiences for leadership development and personal growth
- Actively invite student participation and leadership in the Mission and Ministry Center outreach and programs
- Presence, availability, and leadership in the Mission and Ministry Center 5 hours per week (more, if desired) to provide support to the six Core Areas of the Center
