The Liberal & Civic Studies Major
The Liberal and Civic Studies major seeks the education of the whole person. In addition to traditional academic goals, it fosters the development of a disciplined mind, one that honors the great ideas of the past, examines ideas across disciplines, and strives to understand the important issues facing today's world from multiple perspectives.
How we Focus
Breadth through a balance of required Liberal & Civic Studies Program core courses, along with additional courses in the social sciences, mathematics, laboratory sciences, humanities, fine arts, and religious studies.
Depth fostered by an interdisciplinary curriculum content approach that weaves together critical thinking, local and global perspectives, leadership and civic responsibility -- augmented by service-learning experiences.
Integration achieved through an rigorous fusion of course work, assessments, and cross-discipline interactions.

The Liberal & Civic Studies Curriculum
The Liberal & Civic Studies curriculum provides an exciting, cutting-edge program that combines the best traditions of a liberal arts college with a progressive curriculum that allows students to make connections between their coursework and the world beyond the campus in preparation for seeking their career choices.
