    The loan period for undergraduates is 28 days for most material. Reference, periodicals, and special collections cannot be checked-out from the library. Most books can be renewed up to three times in person at the Circulation desk, by calling (925) 631-4229, or renewing online from our homepage. Notification is by e-mail for any overdue or lost materials. While the average replacement fee for a book is $75, some items such as SMC Dissertations or Instructional videos are billed at much higher rate.
