LSJI is an immersion program that provides a relational encounter with persons living in poverty.

Sponsor: Christian Brothers Conference/financial support from SMC

Dates: Week-long immersion during the summer in June, July or August. The next immersion is 6-11, 2014 (El Otro Lado)  in Tucson, Arizona.

Locations: Tucson, Arizona, (border experience); El Paso, Texas/Juarez, Mexico (global economy and immigration); San Francisco's Tenderloin (homelessness); and Chicago (peace and justice).

Description: The immersion program consists of three integrated components: a relational encounter with persons living in poverty; a place to study and examine the Lasallian tradition and Church teachings on poverty, justice and peace. These immersions are experienced in a community of Lasallians with whom one can prayerfully integrate experiences and discern the path of our Lasallian vocation. Continuing education units are available through SMC.
