Interests
As a consultant, I am Managing Director of Pacific Business Solutions, a company I began in 1999 as well as a founding partner of Q2C (Quote to Cash) Solutions. I have over 30 years of global, corporate experience in finance and management with industries such as telecommunications, semi-conductors, forest products, chemicals, plastics and consumer products among others. My experience includes analyzing opportunities and providing resolutions in the order-through-collect cycle for manufacturers, distributors and service companies located worldwide. Besides teaching in the MA in Leadership program, I have been a long-time St. Mary's faculty member in the SEED program and adjunct faculty in extended education with UC Berkeley and Michigan State University. In 2003, under the combined sponsorship of FCIB (Finance, Credit & International Business), Michigan State University and the U.S. Department of Commerce, I assisted in the creation of an on-line course in international business. This certificate program was developed for professionals in countries wishing to export their products or services. Also, at the request of a CA association, I have developed and currently instruct in on-line certificate courses, “Understanding Financial Statement Analysis” and “Principles of Business Credit.” I am an instructor in international business at an executive program held at Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, during the latter part of June. I have made numerous presentations and in-house training programs to Fortune 500 companies, associations and professional groups. My activities include expert witness testimony, writing articles for trade publications, editing books on financial management and authoring of a book for the American Management Association. In late 2007, I received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Under Secretary for International Trade of the U.S. Department of Commerce for my contributions to the “Trade Finance Guide,” a reference publication produced for U.S. exporters. Board and Committee service currently includes the Export-Import Bank of the U.S., FCIB (an international trade association) and the editorial staff of IOMA, a business trade publication.
