Marilyn Abildskov

Creative Nonfiction

Marilyn Abildskov is the author of the memoir, The Men In My Country, and is also the MFA Admissions Director.  Her work has appeared recently in such literary journals as Southern Review, Hotel Amerika, Agni, and New Orleans Review.  She is the recipient of a Rona Jaffe Writers’ Award and Yaddo residencies and her work has been shortlisted for the Best American Essay series.

Graham Foust

Graham Foust is the author of four books of poetry—As in Every Deafness, Leave the Room to Itself, Necessary Stranger, and A Mouth in California—and his poems and criticism have appeared in Conjunctions, Fence, Colorado Review, American Letters and Commentary, Verse, The Nation and many other journals. 

Wesley Gibson

Wesley Gibson is the author of the memoir You Are Here and the novel Shelter. His stories have appeared in The Village Voice and the Mississippi Review among other places, and his art criticism has appeared in The New Art Examiner.  He edits the literary journal Bloom.

Rosemary Graham

Creative Nonfiction and Fiction

Rosemary Graham is the author of three novels:  Thou Shalt Not Dump the Skater Dude, My Not-So-Terrible Time at the Hippie Hotel, and Stalker Girl. Her essays and commentaries have appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, the Santa Monica Review, and on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered."

Brenda Hillman

Poetry

Brenda Hillman holds the Olivia Filippi Chair in Poetry at Saint Mary's and is the MFA Program Director. Her books include Fortress, Death Tractates, Bright Existence, Loose Sugar, Cascadia, Pieces of Air in the Epic, and Practical Water. She is the recipient of the Los Angeles Times Book Award and the William Carlos Williams Prize for poetry. She is also the co-editor of The Grand Permission: New Writings on Poetics and Motherhood. A recipient of Guggenheim and National Endowment for the Arts fellowships, she serves on the permanent faculty of the Squaw Valley Community of Writers and the Napa Valle Writers' Conference.

Christopher Sindt

Poetry

Christopher Sindt is the author of the poetry collection, The Bodies. He has received the James D. Phelan Award and residences at the MacDowll Colony, Mesa Refuge and the Blue Mountain Center,  His poetry has appeared in Pool, nocturnes and Xantippe. Formerly the Program Coordinator of the Art of the Wild Writing Conference, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Squaw Valley Community of Writers.  He is Vice Provost for Graduate and Professional Studies at Saint Mary's College of CA.

Lysley Tenorio

Fiction

Lysley Tenorio is the author of the short story collection Monstress.  Tenorio is a former Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University and a former Steinbeck Fellow at San Jose State University.  He has received fellowships from Phillips Exeter Academy, the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and the National Endowment for the Arts. He is the winner of the Nelson Algren Short Story Award and a Pushcart Prize.  His stories have been published in The Atlantic Monthly, Zoetrope:  All-Story, Ploughshares, The Chicago Tribune, Manoa, and The Best New American Voices.  He has also held residencies at Yaddo and The MacDowell Colony, and in 2008 received a Whiting Writers’ Award.

Sara Mumolo

Program Assistant

Sara Mumolo's chapbook March (Cannibal Books) was published in 2011 and her poetry collection, Outside the Predicate Act, is forthcoming from Omnidawn. She curated the Studio One Reading Series from 2008-2011 and has published work in Lana Turner, 1913: A Journal of Forms, Typo, Offending Adam, and Eleven Eleven, among others. She co-edits the chapbook series, Calaveras.
