The Master of Science in Accounting Program is offered in two formats:
- 15-month part-time program delivered in a hybrid (online and in-class) format that spans five quarters (July 2015-September 2016) allowing participants to work full-time while attending classes.
- 12-month full-time program delivered in a traditional (in-class only) format that spans four quarters (July 2015 - June 2016) in which we recommend participants not work full-time while attending classes.
How It Works
Students take two to three courses per quarter depending on the format starting in July, for a total of 10 courses.
For the hybrid format classes meet via live web conferencing in the evenings for two hours on Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays. Additionally students meet face-to-face on Saint Mary’s campus in Moraga on alternate Saturdays.
For the traditional format students meet face-to-face on Saint Mary's campus for classes that may be offered Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays. The program is designed to accomodate a summer quarter accounting internship or a business elective for a one couse credit as part of the program requirements to satisfy the 150-hour requirement of the California State Board of Accountancy.
The Accounting Boot Camp is required of students who do not have a major/minor in accounting, or for students who do have a major/minor in accounting but have a GPA below 2.75.
