National Catholic Reporter Spotlights SMC's Inclusion in Colleges That Change Lives
The National Catholic Reporter highlighted Saint Mary's inclusion in the prestigious guidebook Colleges That Change Lives: 40 Schools That Will Change The Way You Think About College.
The national outlet, which covers issues of interest to the Catholic population in the U.S., reported on Saint Mary's selection as the only Catholic college and the only California college in the history of the guidebook.
The article features quotes from the author of the 2013 edition Hilary Masell Oswald, who pointed to SMC's Collegiate Seminar as one of the reasons the College made the prestigious list of liberal arts colleges. Oswald said the SMC academic offering represented an "intellectual common ground" where students could come together to jointly explore the writings of some of the greatest minds throughout history. The article, which was penned by alumnus Porsia Tunzi '12, also features a brief interview with Saint Mary's Theology & Religious Studies professor Michael Barram.
