The New York Times and the San Francisco Chronicle both covered the recent marriage of SMC alumna Vanessa Andrea Zahorian to her new husband Davit Karapetyan. The "Weddings & Celebrations" section of the Times reported the couple were married twice this summer. The first, a religious ceremony occurred on June 11 in a Cathedral in Yerevan, Armenia, and a civil ceremony was held earlier this month at City Hall in San Francisco.
The Chronicle also reported on the nuptials, noting that Zahorian is a graduate of Saint Mary's internationally recognized Bachelor of Arts degree program LEAP (Liberal Education for Arts Professionals), which is specifically designed for current and former professional dancers. Both she and her bridegroom are principal dancers with the San Francisco Ballet.
