February 12, 2009Moraga Recognizes Role of SMC on its 80th Anniversary in Town
Mayor Dave Trotter presented Brother
President Ronald Gallagher with a proclamation recognizing Saint Mary's, its students,
faculty and staff for the contributions they have have made during the 80 years that the
College has been located in Moraga. The proclamation, approved unanimously at the Town
Council meeting on Feb. 11, acknowledges the more than 35,000 alumni who have passed
through Moraga and work in every imaginable field in all 50 states and in many countries
throughout the world. The proclamation also recognizes the benefits the 1,000-plus
employees have on the local economy. Brother Ronald accepted the proclamation on "the
midpoint of our 160 years in Moraga."
