What: Saint Mary's College of California will celebrate the opening of the newly named Kalmanovitz School of Education in the just completed Filippi Academic Hall on Saturday, January 26, 2008. A panel discussion at 1 p.m. on "The Future of Education in California: Closing the Achievement Gap" will feature State Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata, Contra Costa County Schools Superintendent Joe Ovick and others. An open house of the Kalmanovitz School of Education in Filippi Academic Hall will follow at 2 p.m.
Since it was established in 1967, the School of Education at Saint Mary’s College has conferred thousands of teaching credentials, master’s degrees and doctorates to educators throughout the Bay Area and California.
