April 14, 2009Former Saint Mary's Student Filmmaker Heads To Cannes and Tribeca Film Festivals
Twenty-two-year-old Ryan Coogler is a filmmaker from Richmond and a former Saint Mary's student. Now in his second year at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, his short film, "Locks," about the bond between two brothers in Oakland, has been selected for screenings in the Tribeca Film Festival in New York and the Cannes Film Festival in France.
