June 15, 2009Sophomore Point Guard Patrick Mills Remains in NBA Draft; Will Forego Last Two Years at SMC
Gaels' point guard Patrick Mills, who dazzled basketball fans with his speed and athleticism on the basketball court, decided on June 15, the deadline, to remain in the NBA draft rather than returning to college in the fall. Men's basketball head coach Randy Bennett wished Mills well in his pursuit of a professional career and praised him for what he brought to the Gaels and the College."He’s been a tremendous ambassador to our basketball program, and we will miss him as a person, a leader, and a basketball player," Bennett said. "Knowing Pat’s work ethic and desire, he will do very well in his professional basketball career."
