Brother R. Arnold Stewart first worked at the Brothers' high school in Sacramento as a teacher and a prefect of resident students. He then served for 21 years at Sacred Heart High School in San Francisco, as dean of men for five years and principal for 13. He also worked at the Brothers' school in Yakima, Wash., for three years. Brother Arnold is one of the few living Brothers who was on the staff of Christian Brothers Winery prior to its sale. He returned to SMC for 12 years and was an assistant in the Admissions Office, director of the Brothers' community and a residence hall director. He was vice president for student affairs for a short time prior to Brother Mel's departure as president. He is now officially retired, but continues to work as an assistant in the Provincial's Office at Mont La Salle in Napa.
