Gael Glimpses, 1990-1999


1999

 Jim Allen MBA  and his family traveled to Greece and Turkey last fall. Jim recently graduated with honors from Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. He and his wife, Amanda (Reynolds) MBA '00, live in Roseville with their children Ransom, 5, and Reagan, 4. Jim is the vice president of IT at SAFE Credit Union and Amanda is a vice president and lease negotiator for Wells Fargo.
 Zulay (Dowling) and Todd Loftin were married on April 22, 2008, on a private beach in Costa Rica, where they later celebrated with family and friends at her grandmother's house. They have moved to a house at the Concord/Clayton border.
 Debbie (Lopes) Salcedo and Alehave a son, Aiden, who started pre-school last September. The family lives in Turlock.
Annie Medeiros moved to London in 2006 to study fashion marketing at University of the Arts London–London College of Fashion. After returning to the U.S., she started an online fashion boutique, Muito Fina, which celebrated one year of business in September 2008.


1998

 Heather (Bassett) and Jared Barnard welcomed a beautiful daughter, Ellison, on June 17, 2008. Ellison is the little sister of Edward, 4, and Eden, 2.
 Grace Bourke MBA was transferred to Ohio after graduation. After returning to California, she met Bill Kissinger at a volleyball game in Walnut Creek. On Sept. 6, 2008, they were married in a small ceremony in Nevada City. They live in Auburn. Grace is developing her passion for photography, and she and Bill started a fine art photography business in addition to working full-time.
 Dana (Lasater) Von Holten  and her husband, Alan, welcomed son Brady Alan on May 16, 2008.
Holly (McClain) and Chris LaBarbera '97 were married on June 21, 2008, in San Jose; they honeymooned in Maui. Holly teaches English at a continuation high school in Fremont and Chris is a business consultant and real estate developer in San Jose.
Lloyd Schine III '98 ME '04 is the director of Alumni Relations at SMC. He married Cri (Campbell) on Sept. 13, 2008, at St. Patrick's Church in San Francisco. Their reception was held at the Julia Morgan Ballroom, where they celebrated with family, friends and several SMC alums who were members of the wedding party. The couple honeymooned in Turkey, Egypt and the Greek isles.


1997

Ken Cuozzo and his wife, Emilie, celebrated the birth of their first child, Lily Catheryn, on Sept. 27, 2008. Lily weighed sipounds. Ken teaches anatomy, physiology and biology at Foothill High School, where he also coaches lacrosse.
 Sheila (Heslin) Bunten lives in Orange County, where she teaches Spanish and coaches volleyball at Fountain Valley High School. She and her husband, Tom, were expecting their first child in late December.
 Marilyn Paquette ECR '04 completed her first half-marathon as a member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. She helped raise funds for LLS in honor of Stacy Ojeda, who died from leukemia in 2000. Many former Gaels supported Marilyn in this cause.
Carrie Neumeier Peralta's daughters Emily and Allyson were with Katie (Kelso) Carter's children Matthew and Sarah at Saint Mary's before the wedding of Jocelyn (Cruz) Johnson.


1996

 Brian Damiani  and Kate (Bell)  welcomed daughter Lauren Isabella on Aug. 1, 2008. She joins sisters Julia, 6, and Emmy, 3. Brian works in Pleasanton as a financial planner, and Kate stays busy with three children.
Vincent Gatto is an executive recruiter with 12 years of professional experience in recruiting and accounting. After beginning with Hood & Strong, LLP, he moved to a position in corporate finance with a Fortune 500 company and then began recruiting, focusing on the placement of accounting and finance professionals.
Maureen Stroup P EE '99 has moved to Henderson, Nev., to be closer to her ailing parents. She hopes to network and seek new friendships with Bay Area folks.
Dirk Vlieks and his wife announce that on Feb. 1, 2008, they had two beautiful baby girls. They are excited about the additions to the family and look forward to the almost-daily changes.
 Chris Wright, Jus and Maya proudly announce the birth of their son and brother, Dylan Wayne. He was born on Aug. 8, 2008 (8/8/08) and weighed eight pounds.


1995

 Meredith Galera-Kenyon N ‘05 had a son, Kal'el Devon, on Feb. 14, 2006. Her husband, Steve, is an engineer in San Jose. Meredith is a case manager for the elderly and started a new job as staff development coordinator last fall. The family lives in Vallejo.

Tricia (Lovi) and Brian Driscoll welcomed their third child, Patrick Brian, on Aug. 2, 2008. He joins sister Clare, 8, and brother Luke, 6.

 Mindy (McLaughlin) and Randal Scott Gillum were married on Nov. 24, 2007, at St. Paul's Chapel in Walnut Creek. Mindy's parents hosted an intimate reception dinner for 30 guests at Postino Restaurant in Lafayette. The couple lives in the Bay Area.

 Stefani (Overholt) McNeil received her master's of science in physical therapy from Regis University in Denver in 1997. She is the supervising physical therapist in the Pediatric Department at Easter Seals Superior California. Stefani lives in Roseville with her husband, Pat, and her daughters, Holli, 10, and Kelsi, 8. Pat is a hunting guide and property manager for Golden Ram Sportsman's Club.

 Julie (Parkin) Person  and her husband, Erik, live in Walnut Creek with sons James and William, who love SMC basketball and Omar Samhan '10. Julie works with McKesson's organizational effectiveness team.


1994

 Mary Beth (Cook)  and Eric Swingle are enjoying their son, Trevor, who is in kindergarten near their home in Martinez. Mary Beth and Eric own their own companies; Eric owns Contra Costa Closets and Mary Beth is a senior consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics.

 Kelly Gentry-Bruns  married Todd Bruns, a financial advisor, in 1997. Kelly was a television reporter for NBC in Missouri, traveling through the years to 26 countries, including Botswana, where she brought school supplies to a small village. She has since retired into motherhood, taking care of their three children, Emily, 9, Faith, 6, and Adam, 5. Kelly and her family live in El Dorado Hills near Sacramento.
 Amy Elizabeth Lynn was married on Aug. 30, 2008, to Thomas Edward Cramer III on Treasure Island. Amy is the director of public relations at Fuse TV in New York. Thomas, a business strategy consultant for IBM, graduated from Virginia Tech.
 Guillermo Morales  is in his second year as principal at Thurgood Marshall Academic High School in San Francisco. Guillermo and his wife, LuElena, live in San Leandro and have recently been blessed with a third child, Julianna Luz, born in July 2008. Their other two children are Diana Gisselle, 7, and Xavier Anthony, 4.


1993

Christina Marshall was inducted into the Kitsap Sports Hall of Fame at Olympic College in Bremerton, Wash., in October, four days after her son Jackson's first birthday. Christina was a standout basketball player for Bainbridge High School in Washington, starting every game and finishing with a school record of 1,155 points. At Saint Mary's, Christina played basketball from 1991–93.
 Alfonso Mendoza  attended Harley Davidson's 105th anniversary celebration in August 2008, riding his '07 Road Glide from San Diego to Milwaukee. The return trip followed what's left of historic Route 66, making many stops for a "once-in-a-lifetime" journey.


1992

Erik Beauchamp graduated from McGeorge School of Law in 2002. He works for the Placer County Public Defender's Office representing DUI defendants. He lives in Fair Oaks with his wife, Dedra, and two beautiful children, David, 3, and Larissa, 6. On Oct. 26, 2008, the couple celebrated their 11th anniversary.
 Judy (Haydon) Stokes EE is the website and electronic communications manager for Sutter Health. She lives in Sacramento and has four sons: Glen, 31, a helicopter firefighter with the El Dorado National Forest; Neil, 28, a musician and teacher's aide for autistic students; Max, 21, a student at CSU, Sacramento and Ian, 17, a high school senior. Judy fondly remembers the Extended Education program and its focus on literature.
Dave and Maureen (McNulty) Smith '91 returned to the Bay Area in 2005 after living in Eugene, Ore., Dallas and Laguna Niguel (Orange County). They have two daughters: Molly, 8, and Kate, 6, and live in San Carlos. Dave is the director of financial risk management at Adobe Software. Dave and Maureen have been married 15 years.


1991

 Jerald Balgos completed his first triathlon, an Ironman distance event in Louisville, Ky., on Aug. 31, 2008, with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program. He raised more than $9,000 for research and patient services. Jerald lives in Cupertino.
Ruth A. Develle is married to Bill Callanan and lives in San Francisco. She is an executive recruiter in the city.
 Laurel (Hayden) Hyslop and her husband, Rob, welcomed their second daughter, Maya Kateri, on April 29, 2008. Maya joins her big sister, Hayden, 3. Laurel lives in Evergreen, Colo., and is the sole proprietor of a research consulting business and an instructor of psychology at Metropolitan State College of Denver and Regis University.


1990

 Kathy Linzmeyer married Mike Greenwald in Castro Valley on Aug. 9, 2008. They are combining households in Hayward, with Kathy's son, Matthew, 13, and Mike's daughter, Katie, 16. Kathy has been the director of financial aid at Chabot College since April 2002, and Mike is a civil engineer with CH2MHill. Kathy is obtaining a master's in leadership from SMC.
 Tracy (Wilson) Brownell  and  her husband, Andrew, welcomed Hannah on July 30, 2008. She joins big brother Nicholas, 3. The family lives in Perth, Western Australia, where Andrew is an engineering manager for Logicamms. Tracy and Andrew met on vacation in Egypt, and were married in 2002. Tracy has become an Australian citizen. She was in retail property management before motherhood.
