| Mazi Allen is finishing a dissertation in philosophy at Binghamton University (in Vestal, N.Y.). Since graduating from SMC, Mazi has become a practicing Muslim and the owner of a spry 9-year-old cat. He has presented at numerous conferences, traveled widely and published in such academic journals as Human Architecture and The Bertrand Russell Society Quarterly. Looking forward to returning to SMC as Irvine Teaching Fellow for the 2008-2009 academic year, Mazi hopes that the many blessings bestowed on him in his academic career continue. |

He returned to the College after working at San Jose State University, where he was assistant athletic director for facilities and events. He has more than 18 years of collegiate athletics experience as an administrator and player, and has worked at the West Coast Conference office, the University of San Francisco, San Francisco State and Sonoma State. |

| Rojana Turner EE, after working for 13 years with Solano County and a brief stint with the state of California, has accepted a position with the county of San Francisco as a benefit control supervisor in the human services agency. She also completed her graduate certification in human resources at Chapman University. Many SMC alums were among the 600 guests. The happy couple honeymooned in the French Polynesian Islands. They live in Walnut Creek, where Julie is a real estate broker and Tony manages local family restaurants. They look forward to starting a family soon. |

Greg was recently hired as the CFO of the Lyric Opera of Kansas City. Greg and Keri have three children, Jillian, 8, Allyson, 5, and Owen, 1. They celebrated their 10th anniversary in December. |

| Aaron Nelson is a contributor to the upcoming book Jack Bauer for President: Terrorism and Politics in “24.” His essay “Simulating Terror” looks at why people from across the political spectrum enjoy the show and examines how “24” supports and criticizes the Bush administration. The book is scheduled to be published in March. |

Mary E. Watson and David P. Thomas were married on Sept. 22, 2007, at Kathryn Albertson Park in Boise, Idaho. The couple hosted a reception in downtown Boise, where guests enjoyed David’s homemade wedding cheesecake. Mary is an assistant city attorney with the city of Boise, and David is an architect with Supervalu, headquartered in Boise. Mary and David traveled to France and Germany for their honeymoon.

Capt. Damon Foss recently returned home from Afghanistan, where he was deployed as the 131st Pararescue Team commander. Damon and his wife, Lisa Barrette-Foss, welcomed the arrival of their son, Nolan James, on Nov. 20, 2007. Nolan joins older sisters Carley, 9, Kaitlyn, 7, and Kelsey, 2, at the family’s home in Mountain View.

Dillon was a big baby, weighing more than 9 pounds, which he will need with two older brothers — Connor, 6, and Brendan, 4.
