 Latino Alumni Association Gathers for Annual AwardsThe Latino Alumni Association convened in Dryden Hall on Nov. 30 to celebrate the 2007 Latino Alumni Award winners. This year’s honorees included (from left): Alfonso Javier Mendoza Villalvazo ’93, who works for the nonprofit California Telephone Access Program for people with disabilities; Laura Garcia-Cannon ’91, co-anchor of the Bay Area NBC11’s weekday morning news; Brother Camillus Chavez, FSC, ’51, a psychology professor who is at the center of Saint Mary’s efforts to recruit and retain Latino students since 1975, and Dr. Maria Mejorado ’78, who trains bilingual teachers at CSU-Sacramento. |
