Life in the Imperial City
The Committee for Lectures, Art and Music hosted Rajiv Chandrasekaran, associate editor of the Washington Post, on Oct. 22. Chandrasekaran is the author of Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq’s Green Zone, a National Book Award finalist that chronicles early problems with U.S. reconstruction efforts in Iraq. At Saint Mary’s, he spoke about his book and his work as the Post’s bureau chief in Baghdad, where he covered the war and U.S. occupation from April 2003 through October 2004.
