The Scheduling and Promotion Office’s first year is quickly coming to a close. A number of projects have been or are near completion including; Classroom signage for all academic spaces was completed in early February, the Digital signage pilot project is nearing completion and our “Get a Room” workshop this past winter was a great success. There has also been a significant increase in advanced planning, collaboration and coordination around campus events. I want to thank everyone for their assistance, support, and patience. Please continue to send me your events for the coming academic year and beyond.
The Master Calendar
The primary objective this first year was creating a unified Master Calendar. The timeline developed in October 2007 called for implementation in May 2008. We have fallen behind schedule due in large part to the software vendor’s inability to deliver the product on time. Implementation has been pushed back until August of this year.
As I begin to assess this first year I hope you will help me. “How am I doing?” What can I do to better support your efforts? Your suggestions, comments and concerns would be very much appreciated.

Classroom signage
The classroom signage project has been completed. All classrooms now have a schedule of classes posted outside their respective rooms.
Digital Signage Pilot Project
We have been "live" since April 1, 2008. The screen is divided into 3 sections, with the largest section designated for Student anouncements. Over the course of the last month we have showcased more than 100 different events!
Working with Student Involvement & Leadership we are developing a student log in. Giving students the ability to design signage that will be approved and posted in a timely manner. A staff and faculty log in is also being developed, as is a workshop in utilizing the signage.
A full assesment of the project is scheduled for later this month.
