As we enter the month of May, a month dedicated by the Church to Mary, I give you all greetings and best wishes for success in our mission, especially in these last weeks preceding graduation.
We had the privilege of welcoming last week the Superior General of the Brothers, Brother Ãlvaro RodrÃguez EcheverrÃa, for a morning visit to the campus. His words to us were encouraging and supportive as he reminded us that we should at once pursue excellence in our education and remain inclusive and supportive in serving all who come to us. You can find an article about his visit in our weekly Bulletin and on the college's website.
Also this past week, we celebrated the 360th birthday of Saint Jean Baptiste de La Salle on April 30. I find this a poignant reminder that our Lasallian tradition is alive and well, not just here at Saint Mary's but all over the world, in more than 80 countries. I am thankful that so many here find meaning and purpose in being at a Lasallian institution. On behalf of all of the Brothers, I thank you all heartily for your engagement and support of our institution and your dedication to our students and their welfare.
As we approach the end of the semester, I also thank you for your hard work and hope you are continually inspired by the wonder we find in all that we do at Saint Mary's.
