By pursuing the Music Major you'll have the opportunity to study with a number of outstanding faculty who are renowned musicians, including Adam Luftman, Principal Trumpet with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, Donald Kennelly, trombonist with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, critically aclaimed jazz guitarist, Mike Williams, and concert pianist, Lino Rivera, Conductor, Julie Ford, recent recipient of two Gold Medals at the World Choir Games, and composer Martin Rokeach, honored with over a dozen national and international awards.

Campus Music Ensembles
Instrumentalists and singers with a range of experience and musical backgrounds can perform in department ensembles, including the orchestra, wind symphony, the Saint Mary's Chamber Musicians, Jazz Band, and our two choirs: Glee Club and Chamber Singers. These ensembles are organized early each semester. Private music instruction is offered to music majors and minors, as well as to those active in ensembles.
Students accepted to Saint Mary's College can major in any program they wish; auditions are not required to enter any Performing Arts program. Students must audition for specific performing opportunities as listed below:
