Telephone Services supports and maintains approximately 4600 telephone lines for faculty, staff and students that supply voice connectivity to every campus office, both on the central campus and at the Rheem Center. This service is provided by an NEC 2400IMX PBX with a voicemail system. With this service comes enhanced 911 capabilities, which allow location information to be sent to the Public Safety Office and simultaneously to the E911 Call Center for local police, fire and medical dispatching. This safety feature will allow faster response time to emergencies.
Saint Mary's students are responsible for their own telephone equipment. Local and long distance calling within the United States is without charge. Direct International calling is not allowed without a calling card. The student telephone system supports four digit on-campus dialing and is available throughout the campus. The Saint Mary's faculty and staff telephone system supports single and multi line telephones, fax machines, and voice mail.
Voice Mail allows students, faculty and staff the ability to retrieve messages from touch tone phones around the world, transfer messages, answer messages, and send broadcast messages to multiple users within the voice mail system.
Comcast Cable: Telephone Services, as part of the Infrastructure Services group, serves as a liaison with Comcast Cable Services.
