International Education Week (IEW) is upon us! International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States. Monday, 11/16 to Friday 11/20: A Glimpse of the World Around Us

Display Case at the St. Mary's Library & Dante Hall

In collaboration with St. Mary's Library, the Center for International Programs and International Club, we will be displaying cultural items around the world in the Display Case at the Library during the IEW! We are requesting to borrow items from faculty, staff and students that represent your culture, cultures you've visited, or even cultures you are interested in. We will display your name, where the item is from, and brief description of the item. The items will be cataloged and returned to you after the event!

Monday, 11/16: German-fest: A Celebration!; 5:00-7:00pm in Hagerty Lounge

Come and learn more about Germany's cultures and traditions! Our study abroad alumni who studied abroad in Berlin, Germany will be giving a presentation in regards to her experiences at FU-BEST! Find out more information on how you can also Study Abroad in Germany!

Tuesday, 11/17: Tango Through Argentina; 5:00-7:00pm in Dante 204

Did you know that Tango is also known as the Dance of Love? Join us as we explore the various traditions of Argentina. Let's dance and fall in love with Argentina as we explore the wonderful food and opportunities that you can explore if you study abroad in Cordoba!

Wednesday, 11/18: Home Abroad: A Global Mixer; 1:00-2:30PM in the Mission & Ministry Center Lounge

Your very own SMC Study Abroad Peer Mentors will be hosting a mixer between international and national students on campus, in an effort to learn the secrets of each region, to make a new friend, and to discover what it's like to live abroad--from /both/ perspectives! Come get an edge on traveling and studying abroad and attend the Global Mixer! 

Thursday, 11/19: Modern Languages International Potluck Dinner; 5:00-6:30PM at Hagerty Lounge

Co-Sponsored by Department of Modern Languages, The Center for International Programs, and International Club. Join us for a collaborative dining event with the Modern Languages Department's students and faculty, along with members of our international student community.  Please make a special dish from your country and share it with faculty and your friends.
